American DJ Time Warp

ADJ Takes Classic Warp Moonflower Effect Into Future With Cutting-Edge Tri-LED Technology

For DJs, clubs and bands who want “gobs of gobos” in their light shows, American DJ’s classic Warp moonflower effect has long been a top choice. Now this popular, colorful, sound-activated light has been made even better, thanks to American DJ’s introduction of the Warp Tri LED, an enhanced version that’s got 50% more gobo patterns and is powered by a high-output 9-watt LED lamp.

Replacing the Warp’s original halogen lamp with newer LED technology offers numerous benefits, such as cooler operation, greater energy efficiency, and an incredibly long lamp life (100,000 hours!). But the Warp Tri LED’s lamp isn’t just any LED. It’s one of American DJ’s exclusive “3-in1” Tri-LEDs, an advanced 9-watt diode that’s comprised of three different color 3-watt LEDs (a red, a green, and a blue). Through RGB color mixing, the Tri-LED lamp can create 7 rich color effects: red, green, blue, purple, yellow, cyan and white. This is much greater color variety than can be produced with conventional single-color LEDs.

“Tri-LED Technology represents a major leap over conventional LED effects, which did no color blending and could typically only produce beams in the color of their lamps – red, green and blue,” said Scott Davies, General Manager of the American DJ Group of Companies. “Our unique 3-in-1 Tri-LED design allows actual RGB color mixing to be performed inside the lamp, so a whole spectrum of different color beams can be created, such as purple, yellow and cyan.”

Combine this rainbow of colors with the Warp Tri LED’s breathtaking 18 gobo patterns, and you get an eyeful of excitement. Producing a massive shower of 48 beams and featuring a 180° beam angle, the Warp Tri LED will cover an entire dance floor or other large area with high-energy visual effects swirling, moving and strobing to the beat of the music.

Operators can add even more variety with the Warp Tri LED’s two 3-position FX Switches, one controlling the unit’s mirror movement and the other its gobo movement. Each switch can be set in 3 different positions: Sound-Active, Static or Slow Rotation. Combining the mirror and gobo switch settings in different ways allows for a number of varied effects possibilities. For example, if you set the mirror switch in Static and the Gobo switch in Slow Rotation, the Warp Tri LED can be used as a rotating gobo projector.

“Like our original Warp, the new Warp Tri LED is extremely easy to operate. You don’t need an external controller -- just plug it in and choose your settings,” said Davies. “Yet with so many colors, gobos, beams and FX options, it puts on an impressive, electrifying light show.”

The excitement can go on continuously all night without interruption, because the unit’s LED lamp operates at such a cool temperature, there’s no need for duty cycles. There’s no waiting for a cool-down period at the end of the evening either – entertainers can pack up the Warp Tri LED right after the show. Another advantage of the fixture’s LED lamp is that it draws just 30W of power, saving on electricity costs and allowing more units to be hooked up to a single circuit. And with a 100,000-hour LED operating life, users won’t have to deal with the hassle and expense of lamp replacement.

Compact and lightweight for easy mobility, the Warp Tri LED measures 12.25”L x 9.25”W x 7.75”H and weighs only 8 lbs. The MSRP of the Warp Tri LED is $279.95.

Peavey IRP Series Amplifiers

PEAVEY DEBUTS REVOLUTIONARY NEW POWER-AMP TECHNOLOGY IN ULTRA-LIGHTWEIGHT & EFFICIENT IPR™ SERIES

Peavey Electronics, a renowned innovator in power-amplifier design for more than 30 years, proudly introduces the new IPR™ Series of ultra-lightweight and efficient power amplifiers.

Boasting a net weight under 7 lbs. on its lightest model, the groundbreaking Peavey IPR Series utilizes an advanced design that allows Peavey engineers to dramatically reduce weight while increasing output power, reliability and thermal efficiency. IPR Series amplifiers are designed with a resonant switch-mode power supply and a high-speed class D topology that yields the highest audio resolution and efficiency available.

Peavey IPR Series amplifiers feature two channels with independent, 100 Hz crossovers and a variable-speed fan housed in a lightweight aluminum chassis. Peavey’s exclusive DDT™ speaker protection with multi-point clip sampling leads a protection-circuitry suite that also includes DC, Temp, Signal and Active safeguards, all referenced on the front panel with LED indicators.

In addition to the standard IPR 1600, IPR 3000, IPR 4400 and IPR 6000 models, Peavey has announced four models that feature built-in 32-bit, floating-point digital signal processing. The IPR DSP models ship with program-specific EQ presets that make common sound-reinforcement EQ treatments easy to perform, as well as delays, crossover and stereo/mono operation with lockable security settings. A front-panel LCD screen allows users to quickly identify and assign presets.

The Peavey IPR Series power amplifiers will be available from authorized Peavey retailers in Q3 2009.

Peavey PR 15D and PR 12D

Peavey UPDATES POPULAR PR™ SERIES POWERED LOUD speakers with lightweight, class-d power

Peavey has updated the best-selling PR Series powered loudspeakers with its new class D amplifier topology for even lighter weight on the new PR 15D and PR 12D models.

The Peavey PR 15D and PR 12D are two-way powered loudspeaker systems engineered with a bi-amplified class D power section that drives a 12" woofer with a robust 150 watts continuous and a 1.4" titanium-diaphragm RX™14 compression driver with another 50 watts continuous. This high-speed amp topology yields the highest audio resolution and efficiency available, and has helped the PR Series shed 20% more weight than previous models, down to a mere 37 lbs. for the PR 15P and 28 lbs. for the PR 12P.

The PR 15D and PR 12D are capable of up to 120 dB peak SPL and feature Peavey’s exclusive DDT™ speaker protection, which virtually eliminates audible power amplifier clipping. A built-in, heavy-duty crossover increases reliability at high power levels.

A Woofer Servo monitors the woofer for back-EMF that is not a result of the drive signal and compensates for the unwanted woofer response in the overall signal. The result is a well-controlled and precise sound with excellent low-end frequency handling. A Constant Loudness (Fletcher-Munson) circuit accentuates bass and treble frequencies at low listening volume levels to provide additional clarity and uniform sound reproduction across the volume spectrum.

The Peavey PR 15D and PR 12D are available now from authorized Peavey retailers.
