The first time I heard Mark speak was in 2001 when he came to Minnesota to speak to a group of DJs who were invited to hear him talk of his "Getting What Your Worth" seminar.
I will admit that when I first heard what he had to say I thought he was out of his mind! DJs getting paid three times the amount that most of us were charging at that time. But then it began to sink in, everything he had to say was absolutely correct. We (DJs) have been selling ourselves short and not charging enough to really earn a living.
Most of us weren't even charging enough to pay the DJ bills and we all had full time jobs and just DJ'ed on the weekend to have some fun, make a little cash or just for something to do.
Listening to Mark and really applying his truths and knowledge to my own business plan really has changed my life for the better!
Before Mark we were lucky to make $200 for a wedding event. Now I charge more then that per hour and my clients still hand me tips at the end of the night.
The biggest surprise to me is; that was six years ago, and there are still DJs charging the same amount now as they did then.
